Default Kevins Cafe closed but relocating

Fans of Chef Kevin at Kevin's café will be sad to hear that he has closed the restaurant in that location as of Sunday But the good news is he is looking to relocate to a new location. His crab cakes are some of the best I have ever eaten and the stuffed salmon is fantastic, basically all his food is great who am I kidding. PLEASE find a place fast so my taste buds won't forget you. If any of the form members know of anyplace that could work you could drop him an e-mail. He did tell me he is still catering and will run his trailer which was on the ice for pond hockey. Good luck on the search we'll miss you until we eat again

Default Kona Mansion?

I was at Kevin's for lunch mid-February, and he mentioned he had been talking with the owner of Kona Mansion about taking a job there as a chef. Don't know if that is working out, but I would really like to see him re-open soon with his own place.

Unhappy Big loss to the area

This will be a big loss to the area if Kevin is not able to locate some where else in thIS end of the Lake.

I could never get over how sweet and soft (melt in your mouth) the scallop's were.

I just had to call my wife and tell her the said news. She was planning to go to Kevin's this Wednesday with a friend for dinner.

This is like loosing Barry (Karen & Barry). Finally made it to Nolan's several weeks ago for my Veal Marcella Fix.

Kevin's location was never really easy to create a successful restaurant. Two separate rooms and one had to go outside to go between and yes he did have a seasonal place at weirs I always thought the closed laundry in center of Center Harbor would make a good small restaurant location but has limited parking

That is excellent news. While I did enjoy the food at Kevin's, specially the all you can eat lobster, I absolutely hated the atmosphere there. I hope he finds someplace close.

Shore Driver: That is an excellent idea... but I think Kevin was leasing the space in Moultonborough. Still, maybe it can come to pass.

Default Menu?

Thought I remember seeing one on line for Rossi's. But I'm sure you'll have a new one soon. Will be sure to check out those crab cakes and AYCE Fried Clams.

Oh and any chance of a crabmeat stuffed lobster in the future?

Real surprised Kevin is not staying on his own. Maybe a decision due to the (lack of) locations??

I think it is smart for him to showcase his talent and bring a strong customer base to an established restaurant. It's a win-win for Kevin & Rossi's.

Is he still catering on his own or is it through Rossi's?

Catering. Kevin will still continue to catering on his own for now
He has a large catering base and events that have been in the planning
For over a year If you have any events that need catering, please message him through his website

Maybe someday he will find a new location but for now the venture with Rossi's is win win for both of them

Hope to see you all at Rossi's

Come on in and introduce yourself

I contacted Kevin last year via his website for catering. I never heard back. We are a big organization and we were very disappointed.

Sorry to hear about that.. Please try me again, not sure what happened, but the best way to reach me would be through email at catering@kevinscafe.com, or kevin@kevinscafe.com. It can be hectic over the phone, so this is the best way. Again sorry about last year, but look forward to the future.

Sorry to hear that also. I hope it was not when we were changing the website over to the new one . I try to help Kevin follow up on all questions and responses to his website if he gets too busy

Please give him a try again. His food is reasonable and worth it

Please message me I there is anything I can do to help

Default Kevin at Rossi's for mothers day

Went to Rossi's on Mothers day and had some great food, Wife had her favorite (Kevins)Stuffed Salmon, I had the (Kevins) 3 way fried clams, haddock , and shrimp, as did my father-in-law. My daughter had fettuccini alfredo with chicken. All was good portions and very tasty . I was disappointed that they ran out of scallops for the scallops in a tarragon cream sauce over linguini HMMMM good I've had it before, but what was making it even better was the owner of Rossi's had made FRESH pasta for it............just nothing better. SO I mention my love of fresh homemade pasta and she said she would make me a special treat next time I come in, guess where I'm going Friday night for dinner and can you say homemade raviolis........

Default Looked busy!

I drove by Friday night (May 16th) around 6:15PM, and the parking lot at Rossi's was MOBBED. I'd never seen so many cars in their lot. Next week mine will be one of them!

I was one of those cars and it was packed.I'm addicted to the lasagna but two in my party had the seafood and it was awesome as usual from Kevin.Had the ecargot for an appitizer and it was the best I've had in this area served with plenty of fresh, lightly toasted Italian bread to soak up nice garlic sauce.

What more do you need ??

See you all soon
I lived in and spent some time in the kitchen in Italy for 2 years. The Italian Cuisine is by far my favorite. I was able to sneak away on a Weds night a couple years ago to eat at Rossi's. IMO they served the best Italian food in the LR.

Leslie and I can only dine out together on Mondays. When I read this post I became very excited after learning that I could share my find with Leslie. We've enjoyed two extended stays in Italy together and she too often finds herself with a craving for Italian.

So... once I learned that Keven would be "working at Rossi's on Monday's" I quickly checked my calendar to mark the date. Yesterday it was I woke up and right after "good morning dear" was "dinner at Rossi's tonight".

II spent the entire day day-dreaming of the moment my tongue would be reunited with Parmesan and Chianti. I pushed a little harder on the greens mower to make room for a canoli. The anticipation was at times overwhelming. I could bare it no longer. I put down my rake and went In for a quick shower then, "let's go dear".

We hopped in the Van and I fought the urge to speed as we headed to Rossi's. Ten minutes later the sign is in sight. I wipe the drool of the steering wheel so I can grip it firmly to turn into what I find out is an empty parking lot. Rossi's is still closed on Monday's

This afternoon I happened to drive by Rossi's. The sign proudly says open Mondays.

We tried again and succeeded last Monday. Everything was fantastic!! I knew right away we were in for a treat when we were greeted by Margo, the owner and I detected an Italian accent. She told me that she makes here house made pasta on weekends. I told her that we were only able to get out on Mondays. About 15 minutes later she brought out some complimentary house made ravioli that was EXQUISITE!!

It was really special to chat (in Italian) with a 31 year established restaurant owner who still takes great pride in her work and cares for her guest.

Oh yeh.. the first words out of Leslie's mouth when she bit into her Shrimp Alfredo was "this is the best I've ever had" which she repeated 3 times.
