Default Lobster to cook at home...

Recommendations por favor....

I'm looking for a 2 lb - 3/lb. Want to give myself a New England reward.

Celebrating my one week of quarantine after my flight from SF.

Today, I stained my railing and my deck after shopping at two hardware stores. Went groceries shopping, but didn't price lobster. Made two quarts of pasta sauce with 8 meatballs. All shopping with masks. Gotta get food.

Transferred a CT scan from SF to Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Installed dock. Mowed lawn. Got rid of 3 chipmunks ruining my neighbors walls.

Watched three episodes of Andy Griffith.

Getting addicted to "Ridiculousness"

Night, night....

Are we havin' fun?

Sal's Fresh Seafood from his fish stand at Moulton Farms. He brings the seafood fresh from the Boston Pier.

I don’t mean to be a downer, but if you’re quarantining for two weeks, you’re not supposed to go shopping. Otherwise, you’re not really quarantining.

After your two weeks are up (per Susie's excellent point)--I recommend a pair of smaller lobsters. The meat will be more tender

I was about to make the same suggestion, same reasons. Maybe get three. Based on your above list of accomplishments, making extra lobster salad, or lobster hash, or lobster Mac n cheese would bring your day up several notches.
In Mayberry, I think they eat crawdads. Watch some more and let us know.

Crawdads. If I could teach Opie how to catch 'em and keep 'em alive, we'll get 'em from Mayberry to Lake Winni and call 'em crawfish, or is it crayfish?

Does quarantining mean I can't order food online and do a drive through pick-up for lobsters?

Sorry, in 14 days without food, lobster won't be on my mind anymore.

I even brought food with me from SF. But you are severely restricted on what you can bring from out-of-state.

So, is everyone coming in from out-of-state having to quarantine for 14 days? How long can one go without food?

I ain't gettin' delivery where I live.

I would recommend having one of your non quarantined lake friends pick some up (6.99 a lb. at Market Basket right now) and put them out on their dock where you could boat in and grab 'em!

The kitties and Charlotte would love to have a gift left on your dock on Mark Island. 😸 😸

Many of the stores will bring groceries out to your car. You call and order and they bring them out to you. It might take a few hours.

Have you looked into Instacart? You may be surprised at where they deliver. I heard that they were going from Gilford all the way out to the end of Moultonborough Neck.

Default Live Lobsters

For those in the Alton Area, I'd recommend heading down Rte 11 to Rochester to Tides Fish Market. It's just north of the Rte 16 intersection.

On Saturday we got five 1.5-1.75lbs hardshells ($7.95) and 6.5 lbs of Steamers ($4.95) for right around $100. All of it was fantastic! The steamers were very clean an nicely sized ..I'd say mostly medium but many smaller and larger mixed in. Almost NO cracked/crushed shells. The lobster were perfectly sweet and the hardshells packed … lots of meat per lobster. The only downfall was that shells were tough to crack!

Nice people there too....

Cheers…

Default I'm registered for Hannaford's

Drive up and they put your order in your car.

Ok...I went a bit overboard and bought six New England sea bugs.

Steamed them. I ate 3 that night. Next day I had three LARGE lobster rolls and another the next. Still have some left. Put it in the freezer along with all the shells and carcass to make stock for pasta sauce for when I recover...And please excuse me from this post, or anything to do with lobster, for a while.

Mmmmm...Burgers!
