Storm Cell
Not sure how big that storm cell was last night but Welch Island was hit pretty hard for about 45 minutes to an hour starting around 11:30 PM. Winds were at 30 mph out of the southwest which is a direction not protected by my breakwater. Had we not been out there, my wife’s boat would have sunk! 3 1/2’ Waves were crashing up and over the back of it and while it has a self draining hull, one of the scupper plugs was plugged with a plastic water bottle cap! Luckily I saw what was occurring and jumped in removed a deck plate and let the water go down into the main hull for the bilge to pump out, cleared the scupper and eventually it settled down. 5 more minutes and she would of sunk!
Hope everyone else had no issues! Dan

It was quite a blast...
...we got a pretty good blast here in Meredith as well. Certainly wasn't expecting it....woke us up, in fact. One of the patio umbrellas was open and got launched up and out of the table, apparently, as I found it in a crumpled heap in the driveway this morning. Fortunately, no serious damage.

Dan, We did not hear anything here in West Alton however we are protected by the Belknap Range to our south.
How did the Eastern make out? We are thinking of coming over this afternoon with a similar forecast. Alan |

No Rain in Wolfeboro, And Scant Breeze...

We got zero rain, but a gust blew off dozens of heavy pine cones, which woke me up. Overhead clouds were furiously filling with flashes of lightning and there was no wind.
