Caution! missing nav markers
The ice did a number on the navigation markers this year. There are quite a few missing and boaters should use caution. Just in the Moultonboro bay area, I noticed four missing. The red off Chase Pt.; the red south of the Graveyard channel; and two black ones on the north side of Little Bear. I'm sure there are many more elsewhere. Fortunately the water is high and this may not be an issue for some missing markers for now.

Carry Beach markers taken too!
A really good place to leave your outdrive (in Winter Harbor) is ¼-mile off Carry Beach.
According to wolfeboroonline, the markers were carried away during the winter. It is a challenging ride there with the markers in place! |

I thought I was going blind.
I have a chart-plotter with the Bizer chip. I havent kept track of the bouys I couldnt find. I just assumed I was missing them in the glare or chop. I keep slowing down or changing so I dont hit them.
