Default lost cat at Glendale docks

to make a long story short... had to take pets off the island last night...boated to glendale...dog and cat safely in truck... dog steps on power window switch... cat escapes through open window. We followed her into the mobile home area behind the mailboxes, and had a couple of unsuccessful attempts at grabbing her ( I have the battle scars to prove it ) . She is a smallish tiger cat with a white face, so if anyone spots her please let me know. Thanks!

Steve,

I would contact Clint and George (parking enforcement officers) and let them know.

I’ll keep my eye out as we are there twice daily.

Good luck!

Dan

I couldn't even make this stuff up..my hands look like I put them through a meat grinder! I for one consider the whole situation an act of God answering my prayers of " thinning the herd", but K loves them, so that's why I posted. Between you and I, Charlotte the dog will get extra treats tonight. Oops...did I say that out loud???

Default Bait?

Cats can be tough when they're in strange areas, even if there is a sighting. Would she go for bait, say lobster, in a havahart trap?

only if it's lobster bisque... nah, she eats regular cat food now due to the lack of rodents on Mark.

Ya know it’s amazing that there is good chance minzy will be found. Down in CT, due to the coyotes there is zero minus 10 chance of any small pets being found. Another reason to live in NH.

Default Coyotes and Fisahers

We have both Coyotes and Fishers here, hence the reason for considering a havahart trap. It protects the occupant.
Mimzy might not "need" lobster on Mark Island, but you're not on Mark Island any more Toto. Get the lobster.

The picture posted by "billy" look exactly like my Sammy- He is definitely a shrimp cat. He knows that I dice it up for him, and he can hear the knife on the plate-comes running from any room in the house.

My two cats are house cats.

Hate to say it, but owls would be the predators I would worry about most if one of my cats got out- they've been inside so long, they walk away from the doors when they open. Still- have to warn any workers who have to be in the house.

There are a number of predators that will take a cat...I have seen a red fox traveling the roadside with one in its jaws...Gray foxes are a little small but coyotes and even stray dogs are prolific cat killers. Not to mention birds of prey (nocturnal)
Here kitty kitty kitty...

Owls and Fishercats are devastating to house cats also...

May have just seen Mimzy. Is she a darker tiger with a white tipped tail? I did not see her face, but my sister thinks it was white. She came out from under my neighbor's trailer, ran in front of mine, and in front of my other neighbors' trailer.

Definitely her. Are you leaving food out for her at the trailer with the boat at the end of the dirt road and Robert's Rd? She's hanging around?

Have an old blanket ready to toss over the trap if you do snag a striped kitty. Then approach from the non release end, reach around to open the release door and then make a fast exit. Have someone drive you there is a pick-up so, just in case, you can be transported in the back

Think twice before you put a scared trapped cat in the back of a car. You may never the the smell out. Ask me how I know

Empty this morning. We heard a cat crying down towards the Inn at Smith Cove late last night, but saw nothing when we searched.

I’ll put on my Kevlar suit if I see a striped kitty in there.

It was truly my pleasure. I was so excited when I saw her little face looking back at me. I’m just sorry I wasn’t around when you picked her up!

Renting the house again this week...decided to leave the cats right there! The renters were more than happy to feed them, and the cats have no interest in swimming to Glendale!

Default Beautiful!

Vert tasteful. Would like to see a photo of how the "tree" connects with the roof structure. Also what is the view out of the "glaring" windows? 🐻

Connects like this, and we see Camp Lawrence out the windows.

Now that I'm in FL, not sure what I'll do with the seasonal camp in Glendale. Would love to rent a place like yours if I sell. But my campground buddies would kill me if I did that.

During our family celebration yesterday, everyone wanted to watch nature's animals. The gals wanted to watch the dogs while the guys wanted to watch the lions and bears. Sadly, the women won out.

Watching the dog show for a while ensured that I'd be able to watch lions, cowboys , and bears for the rest of the day...oh my!

After the mauling I received from Mimzy when she escaped at Glendale, I always have reservations about letting her get this close to my throat. So far so good...

Currently watching the efforts of a dog rescuer trying to trap a stray dog in my neighborhood. Maybe you could send Mimzy down to help!

My wife and I are 'cat' people. We've had cats for all of the 34 years we've been married (save a two-year cat-less break that we sorely needed). So, we know a thing or two about innocent kitties and if there's one thing we're sure of it's that none of them are. They're always up to something. It is, of course, why they need nine lives. It's also why we love them.

Here's an example of an innocent 'kitty'...until they're not. Steve...seeing this made me think of your Mimzy stories.

They are strange creatures indeed! We have a female cat named Ethel... she is shy as hell and dislikes everything on earth, but will try to sit on my lap whenever I am home. Every now and then, while being petted and purring, she'll bite my hand with the speed and ferocity of a cobra. I yell and toss her off my lap, and every time my wife says " why are you yelling...that's a " sign of affection""....thank God she likes me!! ;-)

Look at that innocent face.
My neighbor at the lake posts this picture of "Mimzy Mad Face" to his employees when he wants them to know he's upset with them!

Default This is Sammy

Does he look like a brat?- Well, he is. He won't let anyone near him except me. Not only that, but he loves belly scratches, legs massages, massage between his toes (six on each front paw), and a final hug.
In the recliner, he loves to sit on my lap and watch The Nature Channel.
Cats- go figure!

4? That's ok, I love animals would have a lot if they weren't so much care and worry. At one time we had 4 dogs, 3 cats, and three white ducks.

You can't walk anywhere in the house without stepping on one! On the bright side, still no rodents!

Who's the other (s)- How did your grandson pick the names?

By the way- part of the reason Sammy is a brat?- He'll let you pet him... for shrimp!

Well...Mimzy ( escape artist and subject of this thread), Snowball ( the deer stalker ) and Dragon are all from the same litter. Stepson brought a cat home, never got her fixed, and these 3 were the result. The black and white one ( Charlotte's twin?) is named Squish. He is also a stepson cast off...was getting beat up at his Maine home, and it's pretty safe on the island, so here he is. How were they named? Beats me...the mind of a 3 year old I guess!Name: 20190331_140049_1554064318522.jpeg

This will be our 3rd year having her...no aggressive behavior and gets along with the cat herd and other dogs who visit!
