Hi All,
I just spent quite a while looking for information about property inspectors and haven't seen any recent posts for recommendations. We have recently made an offer (successful!) on lake property and are going through the typical inspections that are specified in the PSA... namely a home inspection, a septic inspection and a radon evaluation. The property is a camp/cottage situated on concrete footings with a crawlspace beneath. The property is four season, but with only electric baseboards and a thermostatically controlled gas "wood" stove. It has a private septic system that was updated sometime ago, but after its original build date during the 60's. Water is town supplied (Moultonborough) and independently tested. Any recommendations for a thorough home inspector and septic inspector? I'm less concerned about the radon, since the home has no basement, and the water is not from a well. Any information is greatly appreciated.... we'd obviously love to close in time to enjoy the fall! Thanks and Best Regards, Gusman |

Never heard about town supply water in that town.
Where does the town supply water come from? |

I wonder if the water supply might be association supplied, not a "town" water supply, and they would be required to inspect the water quality regularly and maintain the system per all state requirements just like a town water system would.

Hi All,
Thanks for all the suggestions and PMs. I spoke with several of the inspectors listed here: Carla Horne (Grandview), Ron Carter (RCC), Todd (On the Level) and Susan (Covered Bridge). All were extremely responsive and returned calls promptly and explained their services in detail. I honestly would have chosen any one of them, given the recommendations I received and my interactions with them. All were similarly priced. I ended up booking Ron Carter based on his availability. I will report back once the inspection has been completed. Thanks again! Walter |
