Default Trout with a tumor

Vertical jigging on north side of Bear Island my friend and I caught 3 lake trout at about 100 feet. Name: trout w tumor.jpg

When we opened the trout we found a firm solid tumor in the midline, outside the abdominal cavity.

Has anyone found something similar?
Would you have eaten the fish? the tumor? or would you have deep sixed it for other creatures to consume?

I found an article describing a fibroma in a brown trout in 1936, but haven't found much more information

thanks
