Default Boat trailer Q

Hi Forum folks, looking for suggestions or tricks to align an '05, 20' SeaRay Sundeck that just won't center on the trailer bow rollers (always 1-3" off-starboard) when I crank it up.
The rollers spin fine; however, for the first several years of its life the trailer was regularly dunked in salt h20 by the previous owner, so not sure if crusty HW may be coming into play. All tips welcome...
...failing this, will be on the lake June 16-26. Any recommendations on a reliable local vendor who I can contact to take a look at it? Tx!

Im no expert on trailers but It sounds like any competent dealer could adjust the rollers for you. I had the same issue with my jet ski a little tweak here and there and Viola like new.

Rick,

My first thought is as this is a roller trailer, that you may have a weight imbalance in the boat, which causes it to off center.....

I used to face this with an old boat, the battery weighed one side down, and if the trailer got to deep in the water, it wouldn't seat properly on the trailer.... a few bumps later it generally bounced it self into place....

The other way I could get it correctly on the trailer was to offset the wieght imbalance....50 lbs opposite side from the battery, and on she went on with out a problem....

Last try not sinking the trailer as much as you typically do on the ramp... The more the boat touch all the rollers so that the trailer is holding the ramp as you winch it on the better.... a floating boat and a roller trailer are not friends....

Try starting with the trailer backed in less. Most centering issues are caused by the boat floating over the the rollers/bunks without touching them. With less trailer in the water, the boat will touch more rollers and may self-center.

Thanks all for taking the time to post these suggestions. Today is spring shakedown day at the local lake, so I'll definitely give these tips a try. Much appreciated!

Default Boat Trailer

Rick, the secret is to find the right water level before starting to crank. Usually, back the trailer into the water until water covers both tires..
