Default Signs of the time

Someone still has a little bit of a sense of humor. From the LSP online newsletter.

Based on my study of all of the folks running for Selectman in Gilford, I decided that I would vote next week for the one with the most roadside signs. Who gets my vote?

Look on the bright side, my recently reported lost driveway was found last night. Turns out it was hiding behind a 7 foot snowbank.

But just for a frame of reference:

I shoveled a hole into the side of the 7+ foot snowbank in my back yard and found my pick nick table! I've kept the back yard snowblown all winter long, and the layer of ice and snow is still almost up to the top of the pick nick table!

My son climbed up the same snowbank and sat on the top of the swing set that I can normally walk under with no problem!

I've taken 2 truckloads of snow out of one snowbank on my street, and now its only twice as high as I've ever seen it.

Is it bikeweek yet?

Default Laconia & Wolfeboro sited in today's NY Times

There is an article in today's online NY Times about the heavy snow amounts in northern New England - specifically the lakes region. There are pictures of a house in Wolfeboro with tons of snow in the front yard while the owner is seen shovelling the roof + another of the collapsed mill building in Laconia which was being renovated to be a restaurant. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/07/us...sq=snow&st=nyt
