Default Not Making it...

Hi Gang,
Well, I THOUGHT I'd make the "Forum Fest." this year, and was planning to but...I am flying to Washington, D.C. next weekend for the funeral of a helicopter pilot who disappeared with his crew in Vietnam in 1970, and has been listed as Missing In Action ever since. One of my High School friends (Wayne Allen, from Tewksbury, MA) was the crew chief on that helicopter. His remains were found and identified in 1991. I am flying down with 24 other members of the "Firebird-Rattlers" helicopter crews from Vietnam, in Wayne's honor. An artist from MA, (Gina Johnson) who has been drawing any service person KIA from Iraq and Afghanastan, drew a composit illustration of the crew for me. I am going to give that illustration to one of the crews family members. I am going to TRY to attach that illustration to share with all of you. We (the family and friends of Firebird 91) have waited 41 years for this day. This is a once and a lifetime honor, and I can't miss it. Finally Peace! I will TRY to attach the illustration..if anyoe can help me open it for all to view, I'd really appreciate it!

Eagle,

If you have the photo stored online in an album, just click the little photo icon above your message. It's the one that is to the right, next to the one having an envelope and piece of paper. A small window will pop up and you just paste or type the URL of where your image is stored.

If the photo is stored on your computer, just below the Submit Reply and Preview Post buttons, you'll see Additional Options. Click on Manage Attachments.

Hope this helps.

I heard about the soldiers being returned and thought that family and friends will not have full closure and that all of you will have the honor of paying tribute to him.

What a beautiful tribute to the fallen crew. A work of art well done. Gina did an awesome job and I am so happy that you shared it with us. The family is going to love this and they, as well as, their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Thank you again for sharing.

Awesome picture. Great to of had that done. I fly my POW/MIA flag everyday for this very reason. When you say a prayer for him tell him we are so very proud of him, and glad to have him home in US soil...

Thank you for sharing that.

I'm from Tewksbury, and while I didn't know your friend Wayne, my family did have many friends who served in Viet Nam. Some came home and some did not. God bless them all.
