Did anyone just hear the big boom in the area today Wed.March 27 around 9:00pm? There was one up in North Conway earlier today and it was not an earthquake. Sonic Boom?

We felt it on the southern end of gilford. Many people on Facebook are talking about it right now. It was an earthquake, 2.2 on the scale.

In south down. We heard it and felt it. Sounded like the home that blew up a mile from us years ago in Scituate from a gas explosion.

A 2.2 earthquake?
You should have heard Loma Prieta. Although it was hard to hear while being thrown around a room.

Islanders bealert
Islanders be alert. We are coming up on the April 1 anniversary of the sinking of Four Mile Island as reported in the Laconia Citizen. I have the article in the family archives, but unfortunately the year was cut off in the photocopy. There's a photo with LRCT people, Peter Ladd and Tony Halsey. Maybe they're on here?
Never mind. I re-read the article--not an earthquake, The sinking was just close coincidence in time. |

We both heard it in West Alton and agreed that the loud rumble did not sound like thunder. Then J asked if it could have been a minor earthquake?

2.2 earthquake centered around Paugus Bay. I’m in the Weirs right near there and our whole house shook. This occurred last night 3/27 around 9pm.
