It was last time we went by, but there's a lot of fencing around it keeping people away.

Took this photo the afternoon of June 30. I could hear a good amount of work going on, but I could not see it.

Last summer might have been a better time for this.

This is the first I can remember The Mount not operating.
I used to miss the sound of the old engines. Now i miss the whole boat.

This is a pic from a few weeks ago with one of the old props ready to be removed. I was there yesterday and it looks like they are just waiting to get the new props installed. |

Agreed but I dont think they knew the extent of the issues until they got it out to do a smaller job. Getting people to go on site was tricky last year. I was south at nuclear plants and we struggled getting just supplies and people on site but the NRC didnt care!

Boats... always something more than expected.
Really big boats... always something waaaaay more than expected. I hope the can load her up and get the revenue flowing fast. I wonder why the props have to come off or have to be replaced. |

The lake was too low at the end of last year. They could not get the mount onto the dry dock cradle.

I don't know if they are getting new props or the props are being reconditioned. they are also doing other work. If you look closely, there is a steel strap on the rudder that has been replaced, along with other small repairs. The props are large, I would say maybe 30 inches, maybe more. I got close on the water, but I think they would frown on someone jumping on the drydock with a measuring tape. |
