Pickerel
Just caught a big Pickerel off Sawyer Point (20 mile bay). Hit a Rapala floating lure. Are there any others out there catching Pickerel?

I find that pickerel get very aggressive early in the season.
They often beat the bass to my lure. Rapala #7 gold floater works best for me but I am considering replacing the treble hooks with singles in pickerel areas. They often take the hooks deep and don't survive the ordeal. |

Congrats. Great fighting fish. It's hard to land because frequently the line breaks due to their sharp teeth. I catch them around Lees Mills in the lily pads. Also, nice to see someone fishing off the dock!! Our family does it quite often but I don't see it much anymore.
