Recommendations to get rid of oil tank and old boiler?
We are replacing oil heating system with electric heat pump. Does anyone have any suggestions on who to call to get rid of old oil tank and boiler?

I'd try my oil company. Not sure I would replace a boiler with a heat pump though.

It won’t be cheap if you use someone like Clean Harbors, ENPRO, etc. Expect 1,800 - 2,500. If you choose to DYI, make sure you pump as much liquid from the tank as possible before you cut it. Personally, I’d call a pro. Yes it is more costly but clean up of an oil spill could make it seem like a drop in the bucket. Call New England Disposal Technologies (NEDT). NEDTINC.com

Can you give me the info on who the ad was for? I have the same issue and need to find someone that’s not $2,500. Were you successful? Sent from my iPad using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

I think it was a COMMTANK ad. Believe they are out of Bedford area. No idea on pricing.

The ad was for spencer brothers oil tank removal. We haven't scheduled removal yet but based on preliminary discussion it should be hundreds not thousands for our above-ground residential tank.

Sell Half through Craigslist...
I've got a use for it. Cut the tank in half, and I'll give you $50 for one of the halves.

Includes a seven minute instructional video made by J & J Environmental in Pennsylvania. Talks about sawzall blades, kitty litter, what and how to do it responsibly if you don't want to spend your money to hire their removal service. Craigslist-NH has a number of used oil tanks offered for free in their free section so offering it for free probably does not work.
