1998 Monterey Montura 210
So I am starting the trials and tribulations of looking for a new boat. I am not in a rush so I will be taking my time, and will not buy something unless it really hits the wow button....
This week my wife located a 1998 Montery Montura 210... It is a one owner boat which of course peaks my interest. Even though it is older I will be able to find the history of the boat simply by talking to the only owner. The problem is I am not sure if I will be able to talk the owner into taking it out for a test drive, as there is no suitable body of water within a reasonable distance to do so. I am not worried about power it has a 250 HP 5.7 liter engine, and I am sure will move along quite nicely... What I am worried about is time to plane and the over all handling of the boat... I have actually never been in a Monterey boat so any input on how they handle and come out of the hole would be appreciated.

You could make a good faith REFUNDABLE deposit with final sale subject to an in water trial. Ice out will probably be next week, if not, there should be enough open water for a sea trial.

I've got a 2007 214FS but for what it's worth, I love the boat.
It handles everything the lake throws at it. Great ride, great handling. My previous was a 20ft Stingray. Handling and ride can't be compared. |
