Is there a way we can follow him day to day? I can only see 3 or 5 days ago.

Today's April 9 LaDaSun has a great article about Art the Osprey who flaps his birdie-wings all the way back from Brazil to Bridgewater, NH (just south of Plymouth) every year to return to his girlfriend osprey birdie ....... won't Art be surprised when he sees the snow is still somewhat here in Bridgewater, this year!
.....like.... "WHAT IS THIS WHITE STUFF?" Art the Osprey The article mentions that the 450-mile open water passage between Haiti and Venezuela is a big challenge and sometimes the ospreys will land on a passing ship to take a rest.

Thanks so much, Rusty! I was going to search there but you saved me the trouble. I don't like reading about the others, like Jill who didn't make it.

I am guessing that the banding of the birds and the attaching of the GPS transmitter was done at two different times.
Would love to see where she goes to in the Winter. I just find it amazing that Art travels over 200 miles per day on the average as a "snow bird". I have friends who haul a 5th wheeler with a Chev 1 ton dualee and they plan their travels to do only 250-300 miles per day. My hat is off to Art. Welcome home!

I would love to know where she goes in the winter too. And I find what these birds do it amazing also.
I wish I knew where our resident loons went in the winter. I know it could be as close as Maine or Portsmouth on the ocean but it could be further. I would love to know for sure. I know the Loon Center has banded some of them. I wonder if any of them have transmitters? |
