Well there is another thread that goes by the two previous names, Lakeside variety and prior to that, McGraths. There is good info there about the new business but as the name now is actually Fiddlehead Farms, I’ll add my note here.

We stopped in today to have a look see but not to buy anything. Right. There are just too many good things that you absolutely have to have and at reasonable prices to walk out empty.

As noted in the other thread, there are several independent vendors in the integrated coop store. First class meats similar format to the Wine’ing Butcher, full deli, cheese shop, bakery, fresh daily seafood shop, good beer and wine selection and a fine fresh produce selection. And probably some other stuff I missed the 1st time.

Each vendor is happy to give you the quick summary of their goods.

The grilled fresh tuna steak and the steak tips were great along with nice desert items from the bakery.

We stopped in for the first time yesterday. Previously we used to drive down to Dover to their other store. Everything looked great from the pastries to the meat. Prices were generally very good, although some items were on the high side. The standouts are the produce section, the meat section and the fish section. We bought steak tips but haven't tried them yet. I'm sure they're as good as Dover since they come from the same vendor.

We bought some fresh Cod and had it last night. They label their fish as to the fishing vessel that caught it. All fishing vessels were from Portsmouth. They also buy fish from Boston. The Cod was fantastic.

This will be a regular stop for us in the future.
