Default Over assessment in Alton

Though the tax rate in Alton has dropped, the assessments have skyrocketed, and some are notably over assessed. They simply over corrected.
My home has been over assessed by at least $100K.

Has anyone been able to get an over assessment lowered without use of a lawyer?

Thank you.
