Funny. I was thinking the same thing. A buddy of mine told me that when it gets low, it goes into some sort of mode that makes the boat go real slow but you are usually able to get it back to shore on what batteries are left. I always wondered what happens if it got out of radio range? Would it just keep on going until it died out? But yeah I would be nervouse doing that in the winter. At least in the Summer you could swim for it or have a passing boater pick it up for you....
