Shangri-La
Does anyone have any images of the Shangri-La resort they'd be willing to donate (original or electronic) to our historical society?

Do a search of the forums and of photopost and you'll come up with THIS THREAD and these images; I think the property may now be part of the Aqua Soleil / Meredith Bay development? |

Thumbs Up for McDude!
Laconia Historical, if you haven’t already, browse through the History Forum. McDude and a few others have done a wonderful job of compiling some interesting stuff for us to enjoy. Also, take a look over in PhotoPost, there is a treasure trove of postcards and historical photographs. You can do a search on Laconia once in the Historical Photograph category.
I hope that you have read The Gunstock Parish by Adair D. Mulligan. I know it is A History of Gilford, New Hampshire, but it is a must read! It covers a good deal of Laconia’s history, because as you know, Laconia was part of the Gunstock Parish. For those interested in the history of our great lake, this book is a must have. It starts at the very beginning and gives wonderful detail of how this area evolved. |

Land is messy and overgrown, from the road. Lower down from the condo building that exists now. I remember driving up there and having a "beverage" or two in the lounge!

Nice Photos
Nice pictures Dude! Perhaps 5-10 years before I remember driving by it from Meredith to "the city" I recall my ex having a scanner for police/fire dept and it coming over the scanner "this is the big one we've been waiting for" via Weirs Fire Dept and the building being on fire. Oh the memories.
