Arrow Please Send Healing Thoughts to WinnDixie!

A couple weeks ago WinnDixie went to the doctor to address some symptoms that she had been having for a few months.
Thank goodness she finally sought medical attention because she needed a quadruple by-pass!

Last week she had the surgery and thankfully it was a success. She is now home recuperating and is finding that being a heart patient is not so easy.

She is very anxious to feel well enough to get back to the Forum. Hopefully she will be back to her jovial self very soon.

Jeanie, we continue to send healing thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy recovery!
I can't wait to see you at the lake next year. Real hugs are much better than cyber hugs!

This upcoming Thanksgiving gives many of us much to be thankful for! Cheers to good health, family and friends.

Be well my friend!

With love and a great big hug!

Having heart issues myself I feel for her. Hopefully the operation did the trick and she will be back amongst healthy again soon. Yes if you have symptoms of any kind go see a Doctor. I hate the hospital myself, but my heart is not something I can fix with the hand tools I have in my truck if you know what I mean... So well wishes and my prayers are going up for a speedy recovery.

So did they crack her ribs open and all?....'Cause I got some pretty good jokes to tell her right about now!

Default Get Well Thoughts and Wishes

So glad to know that WinnDixie is home and doing well. With her positive attitude and great sense of humor, I have no doubt that she will make a full recovery and be back to doing the things she enjoys very soon. I know she was forced to forgo baking a million pies for the Thanksgiving feast, but understand her daughter will be filling in for her on that task for this year. Next year she will no doubt resume her leadership role in the pie brigade.

I have never had a serious illness or any surgery of that magnitude, but have friends and family who have. They tell me the experience can be likened to being raised from the dead, when they emerged from surgery and realized they were still on this side of the great beyond. It seemed to have given them an entirely new perspective on life. It was amazing how quickly they recovered, as each day brought renewed strength and improvement. It wasn’t long before they were out and about again and back to their normal routines.

Wishing WinnDixie and all her family a wonderful Thanksgiving and get well soon.

WinnDixie - All the best to you for a complete and quick recovery.
The best part is that you avoided the heart attack and the damage that comes with it.

Default Best Wishes...

WinnDixie

Here are your own words from the FF 7 thread.

Cake dreams

"Thanks for identifying those in attendance...very nice to put the faces with the names. A special thanks from me (now that I know who she is) to Mrs. Hermit Cover!! I loved that cake; it looked so good! I would have cut a piece with chocolate, and--as I watched--along came Mrs. Hermit Cover. She looked it over for a minute, and I was saying "Come on! You ARE going to have chocolate, aren't you??" She was standing closer to the vanilla half, but--YES!!--she reached a little bit and cut herself a piece from the chocolate side! I had a virtual bite right along with her!!"

Keep that sense of humor and getting better will be a piece of cake!

Default Thanks to everyone!

Yup! I am home and doing quite well, really. This is one week after the surgery and I'm getting around pretty well. As some of you know, for sure, that CABG (Cardiac Artery Bypass with Grafting) "adventure" is quite the ride! Oh yeah, Lakesrider, I had the chest crack! I could probably even laugh at your jokes by now...and--remember when I sternly lectured YOU about going to the Dr.--right now! And then I just kept "paddling down DeNial", myself!! Well, God blessed me just the same! I am still here. But ALL of you listen to Lakesrider's words. It will literally save your life. Thanks, again, for all your great support. The Forum is very special to me...and I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Love you all...back soon!

Default Great Progress!

Good to have you back from the brink, WinnDixie. Remembering where you were only one week ago today, I would say you are making remarkable strides in your journey back to health. Leave it to you to find the humor even in difficult circumstances. I think a sense of humor lightens the spirit and gets us through the hard times of life. Keep on keeping on!
