Is the local Laconia newspaper changing its' colors, by turning somewhat from red Republican to blue Democratic political endorsements on its' editorial page? Not too long ago, like maybe two or three months ago, or so, the Citizen and its big brother newspaper, Foster's in Dover, NH, were purchased by a Pennsylvania small town newspaper syndicate. So, it could be that the times are a-changing here in Laconia and the Citizen could be a-chang'n its' political colors of support.
Does the Citizen have a new editor in charge? I don't know, but suspect that it does. In today's October 26 editorial, www.citizen.com, it writes to vote for incumbent State Senator Deb Reynolds, a Democrat in the district that includes Meredith, and in yesterday's October 25 editorial, it endorsed Andrew Hosmer, a Democrat for State Senator in the district that includes Laconia. The Laconia Evening Citizen, as it used to be called, just shows to go.....as one gets a little older....one gets a little bit smarter....and it makes some intelligent endorsement choices. Suggest you take the time to read the Citizen's editorial endorsements, and then take the time to go vote on Tuesday November 2.

The trouble with all this apparent social conscience is that what really drives it is not some profound humanism but the desire of a highly privileged elite to feel better about themselves and stave off the unconscious and sublimated self-loathing which was drip fed to them at university.

And, in today's Oct 28, Thursday, www.citizen.com the same editorial writer has endorsed former Congressman Charlie Bass over Democratic challenger Ann McClane Kuster, google "Ann McClane Kuster wikipedia" or www.kusterforcongress.com, so what does that tell ya?

That a discussion of politics is best left to unarmed people in noisy bar rooms ... or was that quiet back rooms..

The paper is still printed by Fosters. But that will change soon. Printing may come out of Claremont as the new owners have presses there. No presses left in Laconia.
