My family use to always refill there water containers at several natural spring sites around the area 25+ years ago. Bathe only problem is no one seems to recall where these springs were located. Does anyone know of a good location to refill water containers at natural springs in the area?

In Alton there is one on Alton Mountain Rd about 1/4 of a mile up from Rand Hill on left. Also another one is located in Alton on 28A/Rte 11 between the traffic circle and the tip of the bay.
This one is on your right if you are heading from bay towards traffic circle. |

![]() ![]() Thanks for joining us. Being from Alton I only know of the one that is the town water supplied location on Rt 11 by Levy Park and the actual spring water on Alton Mountain which do not believe is tested water. ![]() ![]()

113a sandwich, on right, not sure of distance from intersection of 113 and 113a in Sandwich, but I guess about 7 miles.... On right side of road. Don't know if it is safe to drink, empties into granite tub. Keep driving and it opens into Wonalancet (sp?) great views.
I do this loop on my bicycle.... http://www.findaspring.com/locations...g-sandwich-nh/ |

There used to be a spring on Redding Lane just past Kranewood on the right. All the residents used to get drinking water there. Don't know if it's still available....this was in the 70's and 80's

I am pretty sure this one was shut down several years ago. My dad used to get water there and was disappointed the last time he went and that must have been before the year 2000 as that is when he passed away.

That's the one I mentioned earlier, I'm pretty sure they determined it wasn't a spring but just surface water and was not safe to drink.

Most grocery stores sell clean water for $0.99 per gallon. The appeal of fresh free water is desirable, but not worth risking your family's health if it is not tested water.

when I was growing up we use to get our drinking water at the spring on Redding Lane. It is now long long gone.

years ago when we used to vacation at Newfound Lake, there was a spring along side Rt. 3A, near East Hebron I think. I can remember filling up jugs of water there.

Don't know if they exist anymore. There was one behind Middleton Lumber on Lake Waukewan. Also there was one on Black Cat Island road. Used to get water there every Friday night but that was years ago. They shut it down a few times due to being next to road.

When I lived in Gilmanton Iron Works in the early 90's, there was a spring on Rt 140 in Belmont. On the left coming down a hill towards Belmont.
Sorry I can't be more specific. |

I noticed the spring is still going at what used to be Ma Kimbal"s on Meredith center road in Meredith. (This is in the true "center". Not near Meredith Bay)
