Default Is Downings pumping gas this summer???

I just noticed that there are 2 people working on the gas pump at Downings dock. Does that possibly mean that we might be able to get gas there this summer?? It is 15º and the wind blowing about 15 MPH, it must be darn cold for those guys working on it.

Default Workers from Enpro

The workers are from Enpro Services Inc, which is an environmental remediation company.

Here's a link to their website:

http://www.enpro.com/

So the question(s) remain: Are they removing old gas to put in new gas? or are they going to remove old gas to remove the tanks etc?

I am betting on the latter.

My guess would be..they are removing the Pumps permanently.. OR.. removing the pumps to replace them with Nice New ones and want to have it done in an envoronmentally responsible way. The gas Tanks themselves are on land ...likely above ground, and the gas gets to the dock through piping to the dock.

If you were going to replace the Tanks you would likely go the whole route and replace everything. NB

I think I remember work being done to the tanks in the last 9 years. Maybe Argie's Wife remembers.

Why not drop Jon Downing a note through his web page?
http://www.downingslanding.com/
He's on the forum as shurbinator. If he's not in Florida (or someplace else warm) I'm sure he'll fill you in!

Hi, I emailed McDude and asked him to post my response - for some reason I am not able to add to the thread.

Although I appreciate the compliment, Shurbinator is NOT Jonathan Downing however Jon is a good friend of mine.

As for the work at Downing's Landing, Jon states the gas pumps are officially "OUT_OF_SERVICE". This means the pumps are closed and environmentally cleaned. He has the option in the next 10 years to reopen the pumps if he so desires.
