Question Counting Islands

Here is a good research item for you.
The forum main page states that number of islands in the lake are 251 and I know Don spent sometime count them. But, folklore says 365. Does anyone know of small islands that have been connected to make one larger island or add to the main land waterfront? Landfill use to be a common thing. Since the 3 lake theory had been exposed, maybe the lake water level rise sunk some of the original land(islands).
I know at least 2 islands in the Varney Islands were connected and one of the Twin Islands was originally 2.(Should they be Triple Islands?)

Bizer deserves the credit for the island count, not me. If you click on the "251" you'll go a page on his Web site with all the details.
