Question on getting a land deed drawn up??

So we we just given land in Sandwich and have gotten the land logged so far. We are planning on putting a modular on there hopefully before the end of 2009. I am wondering how much it costs to have a lawyer draw up a land deed and how much ( roughly ) this might cost. We have heard that Nelson in Moultonborough is a good lawyer to go to . Any information anyone can give me about this procedure would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You might want to try Michael Murphy in Laconia, we've used him in the past , nice guy very reasonable.

Indeed, Keith Nelson in Moultonborough is an excellent lawyer to work with and very fair when it comes to the cost. I've used him several times and would do so again - especially for land oriented issues.

Does anyone have any idea about the cost of a deed, just a rough estimate??

Your best bet is to call Keith Nelson, tell him your particulars concerning your property and he'll tell you. I've used him several times and highly recommend him. Don't forget you'll have recording fees also. Good luck.

Do you just need the deed or might you need some surverying done or whatever. Do you have the old deed? If you just need the deed transferred and nothing else, I think you could get it done reasonably. I would think someone would do it for 500 or less if it is a simple deed and that's all. You might have to deal with the sale or gift of the land if you haven't already. (the state wants their share)
Hate to throw a figure out but you sound desperate to get an idea.

If you just need to transfer the deed, you're probably looking at $100 lawyers fees plus another $100 to the state for the paperwork. If you have a deed that's in dispute, or you need to have it reviewed to ensure there is no dispute, you're talking between $200-$300. If you are purchasing or selling, then plan on spending $500.
