Default lack of sled traffic

I was out on the lake yesterday on my snowmobile and the lack of sled traffic and winni derby fishers seemed to be way down. I was almost erie. I passed two snowmobiles on one section of trail that in other years would have been at least 5 times that.

It will be interesting to see the economic numbers for this month. My gut tells me we are in deep recession. Maybe it is just the long cold winter that is getting to me.

Default Lousy Ice Conditions

It is the poor conditions on the ice that is keeping a lot of us away... several inches of water, slush, deep wet snow.... all designed to bog down a snowmobile. Then there are the ice rifts with open water... scary!

When it freezes... we will lbe there!

Default

I actually thought there was more sleds coming through, although not on the lake, this weekend. We saw several 15+ packs and the boardwalk was bumper to bumper truck and trailer parking.

Default Busy weekend on the trails...

The wife and I rode from Gilford to Rummney and back Saturday...By far the most sled traffic I have seen in 5+ years on the trails...The lakes did not have 1/10 of the trail traffic. The bad part was the conditions. Just so much traffic the trails were beat by noon. Kudos to the Belknap Club for being the only groomer seen the entire trip!

Cool Hebron area

Corridor 11 through Hebron was awesome Saturday. Once I hit the Plymouth area. What happen?
I took a ride from the Big Lake up to Woodstock to visit the Woodstock Inn. Then return. I thought traffic was light. I was told everyone went to the Great North Woods.
There were plenty of snow. Just can't understand why the trails weren't groomed.
