Question What's going on in Wolfeboro?

What in the world is going on in Wolfeboro? The WolfeCam shows a huge area cordoned off with temporary fencing, a large crane, and slew of unusual looking boats. What gives?

Default Regatta

What a great time! I went on Saturday morning with my brother and father, and we spent a few hours drooling over the wooden boats, marveling at the horsepower, and checking our teeth for sesame seeds in the mirror-like finishes on some of the boats.

Man, these boats are major labors of love. Talk about attention to detail.

And that crane operator is one talented dude -- plucking the boats out, gently lowering them on their trailers, and plopping another into the lake.

Great job by the organizers! The bay was calm, the boats were awesome, and the racing was big-time fun. I will post a bunch of photos in the next day or so.

When we went by yesterday (Sunday) morning, the whole thing was cleared out and gone. Very impressive operation.

Silly me, I should have looked at the DATE on the image I was viewing. Still showing an image from the 16th. No wonder I couldn't find anything in the calender for today. Next time I'll be sure to check the date of the image.
