Ice dams.
This is a specific question only about installers and not about roofs in general. Metal roofs, new roofs, etc. can go in to another thread. No, I'm not going to do it myself. So hold those comments to another thread. Roof heat tape installers in the Lakes Region. Anyone have this done? And by whom? Names, numbers, of good professional heat tape installers is appreciated. Along the bottom or roof. |

You need a good licensed electrician to do this. I don't have a specific installer in the lakes region but that is up there alley. Good Luck.

I installed heat tape to a nasty ice dam at my commercial building and found it did nothing after the fact. It made no progress melting through existing ice. Short of chopping the ice, I found the best method was to install a salt sock or a bed of salt to melt through. FWIW.

That being said, I'm sure a good installer will advise the Professor of the need to clear the ice dams first, and will make sure it is done prior to installation.

All would be installed in warm weather - no snow.
Should have stated this in original posting. So, no, not now. Not over any snow or ice. Warm weather installation. |
