Default Surveillance

Looking for some info on surveillance cameras.
What is best? I'm looking for really good resolution and if affordable the ability to see at night.
I can put up motion lights for night time surveillance.
Affordability is also key.
Thanks
I looked and noticed Sams Club has them but I'm not sure of the quality.

I'm sure brk-int can weigh in on this, he is the resident expert.
He provided me and helped set up a camera, I am very satisfied with the quality.
Here is a day image and a night image.

I have a system made up of Zmodo componentry-an 8 channel dvr, 7 exterior and 1 interior cameras. I dont necessarily love it, but think that if I upgraded to a higher camera quality it would be fine. A lot of my frustration came from the installer, not the goods.

I have remote pc as well as iphone viewing. Still trying to get the email motion alerts to work properly.

It is better stuff than the wholesale club material, but not the best.

Anything you get at Sams is not likely to be worthwhile.

How far away do you want to see, and what is the approximate width of the area you want to cover at that distance?

Default Uniden

One of my friends has a business and has things stored both in his garage, and in trailers in his yard. It consists of two cameras (for his system, can add others, up to four), a tablet, and a charging base. unit connects to his network at home. He can take the tablet to anywhere in the house and connect wirelessly. With the tablet on its charging base, he can also access the system from his Droid.

He showed it to me on Tues night, and I was impressed. Detail in the garage with no lights on was incredible as well as the shots outside. In fact, there was fog on Tue night, and you could see the fog moving. He said that with lights on, it is almost looks like daylight. Looks like a great system.

Not sure which system he has, but here is a link to Uniden systems.

The price of good cameras has gone down.
If you have a smart phone one can view all on phone from anywhere at any time.
Some have sound and pan and tilt.
The price goes up as the resolution increases.
A broadband internet connection is required for the cameras below.

BRK knows his stuff, if you give him the details he will point you in the right direction!

I design large scale security systems for a living and certainly agree that you get what you pay for.
