I know it's come up a hundred times so please bear with me when I do a search I cannot readily find a thread. I was wondering if resident and non resident (property owners) pay the same tax rate. Was up at the house this weekend with my two B.I.L's and they insisted my dad told them he pays less because he's a non resident. I told them absolutely not and they were very doubtful...I believe I may have some bad news for pops or maybe I have it wrong, just want to be sure.

A nonresident owner pays the very same rate per thousand of property value that a resident owner pays.

Maybe he’s thinking they do because many of the most expensive homes are owned by nonresidents and they are taxed higher because of their value, and water frontage and views.

Mark is correct of course, property is property, always amusing as to nutty ideas that are floating around.
Just imagine if non-residents got a break and trying to keep track of that, almost everyone without kids in public school would claim to be a non-resident. |

It is more to register a snowmobile. Here is the info:
NH Resident (club member) is $64.00 NH Resident Non-Club Member is $94.00 Non-Resident (Club Member) is $84.00 Non-Resident, Non-Club Member is $114.00 The registration fees are used to build and maintain New Hampshire's snowmobile trail system. All prices subject to change. For registration information, contact New Hampshire Fish and Game Department?s Law Enforcement Division at 603-271-3129 or visit their website at www.wildlife.state.nh.us. Due to a new law - House Bill 1348, Chapter 253, effective July 1, 2002, everyone who registers a snowmobile in New Hampshire needs to show proof of membership with a New Hampshire snowmobile club affiliated with the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association, or pay an extra $30.00 per snowmobile. The extra $30.00 supports the state-managed Grant-In-Aid program, which goes directly back to the clubs for trail maintenance and construction projects to maintain the snowmobile trails for the snowmobile rider. Any snowmobile that is used "off" the owner's property must obtain a NH Snowmobile registration. |
