This may have gone up for sale some time ago and I just never noticed anything about it. A bike week enthusiasts dream? Who are the current owners, anyone know? I don't know how to price a property like this, but it seems kinda cheap? Wonder if there's something wrong with the property or maybe I'm just so use to seeing property on the lake priced above 5 million.

Lost in Laconia
The Winnipesaukee Pier has been for sale for something like ten years. Ten years ago, it had a price of five million dollars. It seems like the big problem with a business location on the Weirs waterfront is the short business season which is just May 30 to September 5, and that's pretty much the whole season. For the rest of the year from September 5 to May 30, it's a no-go. The City of Laconia even covers up all the parking meters along the boardwalk with canvas covers because the city is embarrassed to collect any money down there for parking. Now, that is unusual, but Weirs Beach is a very unusual place considering its' beautiful waterfront location. Compare the Meredith waterfront with its' four year- round hotels, town docks, and waterfront walkway to the Weirs and you see two waterfront commercial locations with very different results; one is a big year-round success, and one is a big year-round failure. Somehow, the Weirs waterfront boardwalk area managed to get itself lost in Laconia. Will the Weirs commercial waterfront area ever get renewed into a viable year-round business venue? Even the Weirs Beach branch of the U.S. Post Office got closed due to lack of business! And I believe that the same happened to the nearby Dunkin Donuts store, too. That's pretty unusual when a post office and a Dunkin cannot succeed! Maybe the City of Laconia should get themselves some reverse parking meters just for the Weirs: Park there and the meter gives you 25-cents for every 15-minutes that you stay there! ![]()

Can you EVER stop making things up ? Ever ? The Weirs Beach Post Office is open. It has never been closed. They offer reduced hours in the winter. The DD is closed in the winter, It opens up in May.

It will be interesting to see if it is ever bought what they do with it. It would be fantastic to see more businesses stay open year round at Weirs Beach but I realize it can be difficult to drum up enough business during off-season.

Parking meters that resemble slot machines with three little revolving picture windows would be a nice touch.
WEIRS BEACH; what happens down the Weirs, stays down the Weirs! Come to Weirs Beach and win big! ............ With so many Republicans now in the legislature, this time is probably the best shot that NH will ever get for increasing legal gambling. And, didn't the Republicans do a lot of campaign talking about creating jobs in New Hampshire. Weirs Beach needs a new pair of shoes..... Is there any reason why a W.O.W Trail running through the Weirs and a Weirs gambling venue couldn't co-exist.......bicycling and gambling.....what a concept....make the trip by bicycle when you pedal from Meredith to the Weirs to visit your favorite twenty-one table dealer....or something! Right now, the biggest year round venue in the Weirs and probably in all of Laconia and area is the bingo hall at the Fun Spot where people go to play cash bingo. Hey...they are not making silicone injected, iso -elastic parts for automobiles in there....they are gambling! Will the N.H. Republicans who now control the legislature do the right thing and say NO to N.H. kindergarden, and say YES to N.H. gambling? Baby needs a new pair of shoes......roll-em!

This has been for sale for a while... I would tend to guess there is something more going on then meets the eye. Whether that means potential issue or what who knows.
The Wiers needs a major overhaul if it is going to attract investors. It would be great to see someone put together a revitalization plan together for the area. But as long as a majority of the lodging options close for the winter, or in some cases seem to be permanently closed, it is hard to start revitalizing the area.
