Has anyone gone on the Lakes region bi-plane rides? If so, what is the cost and did you enjoy it? Thanks!

I think a post from DRH was cut but it still is a good idea.
You are absolutely right Don, newbie posting in the wrong area, but no harm no foul. actually, this gives me an idea. If one of the area seaplane ride companies set up shop during the forum fest and attendees reserved tours during the 1-4 time, couldn't we ask for a portion of the ride's proceeds go to our food fund? |

![]() Jeff (Pineedles) I have decide to reveal my first name. If you, Ishoot308, as well as others can do it, so can I. Besides, most people spell "Pineedles" correctly as, "pineneedles" but that's not the way I spell it. ![]() |

(It's easy to spot a "round engine" by ear). ![]() One is white with pinstriping and the more frequently-encountered biplane is candy-apple red. I believe both are of Waco construction. Are you sure they're biplane "rides"? There are privately-owned biplanes that cruise the skies over the lake: some could have been formerly located at the White Mountain Airport years ago. BTW: Listening to the skies this morning—easy to do in a sailboat—I caught a Russian-made Yak doing acrobatics over Rattlesnake Island: He's been out there weekends—for several years running—"doing his thing" in the same general area. ![]() ![]() |

We went for a bi-plane ride this afternoon, and it was wonderful! The pilot was Phil out of the Laconia Airport, and he had his own tour of the lake, but was ready to take us on any route we wanted.
I can only imagine how beautiful it will be once the fall foliage comes in, and the experience of flying in an open cockpit can't be matched. The price for two people was $325 for a 45 minute ride, but he has less expensive rates for less time in the air. It is a great gift for someone who is hard to buy for, so I got it for my husband for his birthday. Phil's number is 603-250-6184. |
