Thumbs up North End Restaurant - Moultonboro

My husband and I had the pleasure of enjoying our Sunday dinner at the North End. It was completely spur of the moment as we were driving around the lake last Sunday afternoon. The weather was not so pleasant, but any day at the lake is better than anywhere else to us. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and had our option of sitting in the gratto area or dining room. We chose the dining room and were then greeted by our waiter Charlie. He is one the the best waiters we have ever had and really made our rainy afternoon enjoyable. Of course we started off w/ some drinks (my husband ordered a local brew and I opted for Pino)..btw, yes it came in a juice glass and I did not mind, but was informed that stemware is available upon request as well as bread. Then we quickly turned to the menu. We were famished (even though we don't look it...lol). Pizza is not on the menu, but was being offered that day. I asked our waiter what kind of pizza and he stated "any kind you want". So, I opted for a Shrimp Scampi. I don't think they were expecting me to say that. Anyway, Charlie brought it to the Chefs attention and came back very confidant it would be "no problem". My husband opted for Eggplant Parm w/ a side of meatballs. Let me tell ya...they know how to make a "Meataball"! Very Good! We could not have been happier dining at this establishment at this point because I am the one usually making the Sunday Gravy at home every Sunday no matter where we are. Charlie kept of informed of the progress the Chef was making w/ my special request of Shrimp Scampi pizza. Then the time came for Charlie to present to us. It looked so good that I didn't even want to touch it, but finally dug in. We even offered Charlie a piece and he obliged...lol. Love that kind of waiter. The pizza was perfect, lots of shrimp, garlic, oil, very paper thin tomato and cheese. Kudos to the chef and we could not have asked for a better Waiter that day that has a great personality. Thank you Charlie and to the North End, we will definately be back.

BTW- We were also informed that there is a direct Snowmobile Trail to this eatery.

Default Interesting

2 points about your review piqued my curiousity- 1) I had heard rumours about them getting their pizza oven and 2) the fact that the snowmachine trail runs right up to it and they noted it means they may stay open year round!

2 of my favorite things- pizza and snowmobiles!

Great review BTW!

Default Lunch menu

Have they changed the menu to include sandwiches? They recently started opening for lunch and I was just curious, dinner menu might be too heavy for snowmobiling after.

I looked a minute ago and they do not have a lunch menu posted but I know you can get sliders (chick parm and hamburger) in the bar.

I only recollect being offered one menu (around 3pm), but Pizza, an Italian Sub and one other item that I cannot remember at the moment was being offered in addition to the menu I was handed, which is the one that is currently posted on their site. Hope this helps

Oh come on...you'd be getting your monies worth, it would be like having dinner twice... (riding the trails and the woop-de-doos)

Default During the summer they have lobster special some weekends

My best lobster dinner of the summer was at The North End where I got a 1 1/4 pound delicious lobster for $19.95 with a nice salad and bread. I also split a side of pasta wiith a friend. I do not know if they will have those specials during the winter. I noticed (on my way to the dump) that the sign said Sat and Sun? I had seen signs for middle the week so not sure if they will be open some of the days or not. I think the sign had said from Wednesday they were open.
