From Wolfeboro town docks today. there was a late in the season flock of ducks floating in the unfrozen section where back Bay flows into the lake. Then someone was running a very fast RC electric (I believe) boat. (Christmas present?) Scared off the ducks....

LOL...Yes indeed. And you should have seen that thing go. I bet it was going over the Lake speed limit. Call the Marine Patrol!

That looks fun! What happens when the boat runs out of batteries or becomes disabled in open water far from land? Wait for spring? Seatow?
I bet the ducks would turn and attack it and sink it. |

Funny. I was thinking the same thing. A buddy of mine told me that when it gets low, it goes into some sort of mode that makes the boat go real slow but you are usually able to get it back to shore on what batteries are left. I always wondered what happens if it got out of radio range? Would it just keep on going until it died out? But yeah I would be nervouse doing that in the winter. At least in the Summer you could swim for it or have a passing boater pick it up for you....

My neighbor across the street from the pond I overlook has one of these. His is gas powered and does run down to a low mode which tells you to head back for a refill. I often wonder what would happen if one of his planes goes past the RC range. Does it just keep flying until it falls out of the sky?

What a harrowing experience that kayakers will face, *gasp* this will scare them right out of their boats! The horror! How dare these SBGFB's(Small But Go Fast Boats) ply the waters of my lake. I feel unsafe and scared...time for me to write a letter to a local newspaper to show the world my rightous indignation! Somebody PLEASE enact a law to make me feel better!! ![]()

Soooooo....Seriously......if you were using that thing in the Summer and the MP saw you, could they give you a ticket. One for the boat being within a 150' of a dock? 2 For going over the speed limit? 3 making (a scale) wake in a no wake zone? hmmmmm......?
