What Happened on 3-18-08?

Ok... just curious. It says the most people ever on the Winni Forum was:
Cut and Pasted from the Home Page.
"Most users ever online was 639, 03-18-2008 at 02:06 PM."

I checked that was a Tuesday afternoon! I goggled the date for news or events that could possibly caused such a big number.

I got nothing.

Any ideas before it drives me nuts?

People checking on the "Ice Out Contest?"

Probably a tragic situation like a boating death, and the conversation just came to a head.

Google is well known for returning pages related to "Popular Culture"—Science, not so much

Between 03-17-08 through 03-19-08, this Forum had the words "Good Morning America", "Live with Regis and Kelly", "Richard Hatch", "verdict" and "Survivor" in a thread. (Meaning, Internet surfers were brought here after a Google inquiry related to the TV show "Survivor", etc.—world-wide! )

"Ice-Out-2008" wouldn't have concluded until April 24th, important though it was.

That surge of visitors was because of this thread. A link to that thread appeared on a popular Model T site that day and a lot of people came over and viewed it.

That seems to be the best possible reason. That thread has had almost 50,000 views. My quick check on most viewed threads puts it in the top 5 all time.
