Default Looking for Wedding location

I'm looking for a location for a wedding for 150 -200 people. Not a resturant that limits to 4 hours prefer 5 hours. I would like to bring in my own caterer but can be flexible. Would like to be near or on the lake but some place with beautiful views would be exceptable. Has to be between Wolfeboro and Laconia prefer Moultonboro. This would be (hopefully) next June 2011. Maybe an old beautiful barn, large house for rent, house with a large yard. Looking for ideas. Please help--I've looked at The Castle, Brewsters Boathouse, Wolfeboro Inn, Church Landing, Bald Peak, they all have issues for me. Beautiful but not quite right.....Thanks for any different suggestions you can think of.

Default Sunny Slope Farm in Alton

Sunny Slope Farm: lovely 200 year-old four-season family farm with big red barn, big white stable and a full woodshed; pond for fishing or skating; winter sledding hill; hiking or cross-country ski trails past brooks & wild beaver pond; 2 decks & a screened-in porch; furnished with many antiques and fine, comfortable furniture.

I know of several weddings that have been held at this farm either outdoors or using barn.

It is listed on the Cyberrentals website.

Default Don't forget.....

You may want to keep in mind about the Black Flys. You mentioned outdoors and May-June seem to be black fly season although they have arrived earlier this year... and are a nuisance when outside and trying to enjoy your self.

Default another vote for Oliver Lodge

I second BH's Oliver Lodge recommendation. Great location and lots of water activities for guests too if you want. They are in the process of rebuilding the roof top deck on the boathouse - spectacular for pictures with the lake and Mt Chocorua in the background.

Make sure to send us all an invite

Default Oliver's Lodge

I third Oliver's Lodge! I did some catering there, and it is just beautiful. I always said thatI'd get married there...but ended up getting married in March, so it wasn't an option. Good luck to you, wherever you end up!

Default Brass Heart Inn

My Niece is getting married this August at the "Brass Heart Inn," in Tamworth, right off Rte 113. My wife and I drove there and it looks nice. They do have a web site, and "Cottages" for the guests to stay at. I don't know much more about the place, but it may be worth looking at.

Default Brass Heart Inn

I have delivered many wedding cakes up at the Brass Heart Inn and it is always beautiful! I have never been to a wedding there myself but the staff always welcomes me with smiles. Good luck on your wedding planning, I know it can be stressful!

Wink Oliver Lodge

Hosted our high school reunion with over 100 folks!

They may not have enough lodging, they have plenty of room!

I have been to many weddings at the locations you mention. All are good.
If you have issues, I'd say find a caterer you like: Mame's, Curt's or another, and ask them about sites where you can have what you want.
Also, been to many weddings catered by the two on variety of sites.

Call Herb Oliver, but I don't think the site is large enough for tent for 200.
Both Wolfeboro Inn or Church Landing could handle 200 and outside tents.
I think your specifics are very limiting, unless the caterer can find a site.

Does Steele Hill Resort do weddings? Nice views up there if nothing else.

Steel Hill Resorts does do weddings.

The Mount
sounds absolutely fantastic!

Where your wedding is in June, will it be during the time when she is at the Pier for Bike Week?

Paul and I are hitting our 25th Anniversary in the fall. If we were to do a large party, I would love it to be on the Mount!
(I keep waffling, large party or something intimate.)

Mee-n-Mac had a wonderful wedding aboard the Winnipesaukee Belle.
(Paul and I were the wedding crashers, taking lake view photos.

The Wolfeboro Inn is having trouble getting their act together, but this option might be worth looking into.

Wedding picture by Philbrick Photography

Castle in the Clouds looks pretty special!

Didn't a Forum member get married at the Kona Mansion Inn?
Their website isn't the best, so give them a call. This place is gorgeous!

Camp Quinebarge
in Moultonboro might be worth a look.

Camp Robindel in Moultonboro also does functions.

Lake Opechee Inn, Spa and Conference Center

The Belknap Mill

Lakes Region Bride

I wonder if some of the area inns or motels that have lake views would consider hosting your event?
Grand View Motel sure has a grand view!

Also, the Waukewan Golf Club on Route 3/25 on the Meredith Line. They're very flexible.

I highly recommend Steele Hill - that's where Argie and I got married... Great view from the golf course (which is where we had the ceremony) and the food was excellent. We were married on a Sunday, which we got a discount for doing, and were able to have the wedding plus a 3 entree choice meal for about $1K for 30 people. (This was 10 years ago now...) People remember the view and the food to this day... (my mother - a tough cookie if there ever was one - still raves about the food...)
