Default New Business on Union Ave.

I notice there is a sign at the old Kawasaki building on Union Avenue - "Coming Soon - wood stoves, fireplaces and home theaters". I wonder if this is a resurrection of Mr. Fireplace or a new business coming in to fill the void?

I noticed and thought the same things...

Curious also to see what their "home theater" offerings will be. It would be nice to have a local store that didn't think "Bose and Sony" equaled a home theater.

Word is, New Business, nothing to do with Mr Fireplace. I don't know the name, but the owners suppposedly were in the fireplace business before and are opening this store for their children.

I've heard that Mr. Fireplace is not involved.

Yes there is a Fireplace/Home Theater store opening in the old HK building to be know as Fireside living..... Nothing to do with Mr. Fireplace

Just some info on the people opening the store, I know them very well

the owners have been very well known in the fireplace business for over 40 years owning many retail stores in the southern/central part of the state. They sold there business a few years back to retire in the lakes region where they have always owed a vacation home.

They were toying with the idea of opening a shop in the lakes region and then the Mr Fireplace thing happened and it all fell together after that.

for the home theater they have teamed up with a local guy who has been in the bushiness for over ten years.

I think they are shooting to open may 1st

Are they not related to owners of HK. - family, daughter/son-in-law, or something?
The traffic pattern through the two properties seems to be together!

Default "Fireside Living"

I understand that this business is newly opened, maybe as recently as this past Memorial Day Weekend! I'm sure they will start advtising soon so that we know exactly what they offer!

Good luck to a new business - what a brave time to open!

Default Fireside Living

I believe Fireside Living is leasing the building from HK. The other buildings to the rear are still being used by HK for their service department. As the buildings are all so close together, passing motorist may not notice the new business, which has just recently opened there. They need to put out an “Open” flag or banner near the road to catch people’s attention. As it is such a busy thoroughfare, folks are not always apt to take time to enjoy the view and have their eyes fixed on the road ahead.
