Question Lake's Region Events

Hi there fellow posters. After reading all the posts about taxes, boating regulations, fires, etc (All very important subjects) I had a feeling the forum could use a little upbeat good news. I would like to know what is your favorite event around the lakes region (No Restaurants, Please) What is the one event that you try to make every year or plan your vacation around. This could be a special one day event or an ongoing thing like fall foliage, but something that is open to all in some manner either as a spectator or participant, free or admission charge. Please give some info as to what , when, where and why you picked this event, best place to view or stay for the event. Personal experiences welcome. Let's see where this takes the forum.

Default Fireworks and concerts

We love getting in our boat and going to the concerts at Alton Bay on Saturday nights during the summer. If the weather cooperates, it is a nice ride to the concert, nice music, and if dock space is available, a chance to meet and greet with "landlocked" friends.

And for those special nights, going to the fireworks by boat. I may be partial to Alton Bay because I live there, but there is something about the resounding echo of the fireworks bouncing of the hillsides at the bay . We've gone to Wolfeboro and the Weirs, but still like the fireworks at the bay. Smaller area with lots of boats, and a wonderful sight to see all the lights. Wolfeboro's are also spectacular, and it is equally impressive to see so many lights heading out to Sewall point and Little Barndoor. Concerts in Wolfeboro's Cate Park, at the docks, are also nice.

UPTHESAUKEE, fireworks are a great event, by car or by boat. Quality time and they are free!
