Treadmill Repair Service

Our treadmill died yesterday. I see some regional repair services on the interweb. Can anyone recommend someone? This is our first need for a repair and don't want to get taken.

That is impressive. Most people I know use their treadmill for a coat rack. You wore yours out? Wow!

See if there are any authorized repair facilities available.

Unless it's an extremely high-end Treadmill, it's probably cheaper to buy a new one.

We have had it for about 20 years. Maybe it's time. If so, how do I get rid of it?

junk removal service or take to the dump.. might be easier to handle if you partially disassemble it first.

If you will be junking it, maybe do some DIY exploratory surgery on it. There may be an obvious problem that can be fixed easily. Worst case: you can't fix it, can't put it back together again, and you have to junk it anyway! Are there obvious symptoms of it's "failure?"

Exploratory surgery sounds like a plan. I'll make sure to unplug it first. New ones are under $1,000 at Dicks, and Belmont will pick the old one up at the curb for $25. Decision made.

I agree at about 20 years and if it's used any kind of regular it's time for another.

We fixed our 20-year-old Precor using YouTube and a part from eBay. Works like new. We were told by a professional that the treadmill is no longer supported, and it was junk.

The operation has begun. Based on the patient's symptoms, I removed the power switch, which was working intermittently. I ordered a new one on Amazon and am waiting for delivery. To be continued....

Good news! The power switch was the problem. I was able to easily remove it and replace it with a part from Amazon for $14.95. It is running fine again. Thanks for the advice to try to fix it on my own.
