Default Back Bay Wolfeboro

Hello, we're looking at some real estate in Wolfeboro that has access to the back bay water. Any word on the cleanliness of back bay? We looked at land that was on the Basin and the water reviews were horrific. We have young kids and want a place where they can play on the beach and use the water frontage. Thanks in advance

I have a friend who has a real nice set up on Bay Street on the Back Bay in Wolfeboro. The water at his place looks fine to me but it would stand to reason that it would not be as clean as the main part of the lake since it is a much more confined space. Also remember you need to go under a bridge which is single lane for boat traffic and not a ton of over head clearance when heading out to the main part of the lake. The trade off is that it is a lot cheaper to buy back there. He really likes it so I would definitely take a look.

I would not swim in Back Bay but that is me. I would swim in the Basin. The Basin had a milfoil problem which is much better now. But both places are not the main lake.

As someone that spends almost everyday on BB, I'd pass on the swimming part. Very weedy and gross. Towards the dam at the back I guess its a little better. But overall I'd pass.

There's three beaches in town. All free. Area is great because its far enough from downtown, but close enough to walk.

And yes, there is a bridge you'd have to be able to fit under.

Back Bay has the best bass fishing on the entire lake though.

PM me if you want anymore info.
