Is the museum accessible by boat from the lake? A long walk is not practical, as my wife is nursing an injured foot.

Unfortunately Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society is not accessible by boat. You would definitely have to drive to it.
It's right next to Funspot on Route 3.
While over that way, be sure to take a drive up to Akwa Soleil. The view is fantastic.
PS: Angling in the Smile of the Great Spirit by Hal Lyon is quite popular with many forum members.
