National Donut Day
Today is National Donut Day. I stopped at Dunkin' Donuts to get an ice tea and they gave me a free donut. I know donuts are fattening, but it is celebrated one day a year so enjoy your donut. I also get a free donut with a beverage anytime I stop because I show them my AARP card.

Hi-jack alert . . . .
Regarding the AARP: I was a member for years. Then it became apparent
(to me) that they had become blood-suckers, not the (self-professed) guardian of us "croakers". When I examined the ads in their many submissions, I felt they were pandering to us "croakers", letting rip-off companies try to suck old brains into new scams. No doubt, THEY are making mucho money, but . . . that means they don't need "dues" from us. When the past-president of the outfit makes more than a million bucks a year, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AARP), adjustments need to be made. I'll buy my own donut, thank you. |

DD must have had a tough day.
We stopped in to a couple of them on our way to the lake (for a coffee duiring our ride), and more than once they almost begged us to take some donuts. One even offered us several donuts. I guess they overestimated the number of people that would come in for their freebee. By 7 PM they were offering 6 or so if you wanted to take them off of their hands. Or is everyone now on a diet?
