When looking at google maps Old Hillard Rd is shown I know this to be dirt but is it possible to go from Parade Road to Pickerel Cove in a serious off road vehical or is this a error in the map?

This was brought up in an earlier discussion. Many public roads that were 'decommissioned' by the towns are on the maps. It seems that there are no requirements that towns are to notify Navtech or the Army Corps of Engineers so that they can be taken of the maps, gps etc.
Hilliard Road has huge boulders at both ends, making it difficult for 4x4 to enter. There are atv, snowmobiles as well as hikers using the road. It is very rutted and there are water run offs. There are other roads in the area that have been deeded back to land owners and are private property. A number of them are still use by the public. I would watch for signs designating use or no trespassing.
