We had two thunderstorms come through late this afternoon. The first one passed just to the north of us, but the second one nailed us. We got 1/2" of rain in about 20 minutes, with wind gusts up to 45 mph. Just after the storm moved off to our east, the setting sun came out and produced a rainbow over Moose Island. This photo was taken at 8:15 P.M. this evening:

I saw a nice one right after the storms pulled east of Gilford -- probably around 8:10 or so. I looked East and there was the rainbow with lightning behind in the storm clouds. It was an exquisite sight!
I also had the pleasure of driving home through the severe storm from the Mosquito Bridge to Gilford. I pulled over at the old DoubleDecker on Rt. 3 when hail was mixed in, but then realized the heavy rain wasn't going to let up any time soon. |

Wow, what a great capture!
So... how bad were the storms there last night? Looking at the "Wave and Weather" cams, it seems like 4 of the cameras went out/got stuck right around 7:00 last night, was that the height of the storm(s)? |

NHEC says that they are working on restoring power to the islands. Snake Eyes went out in the middle of a download... hence the partially loaded picture. I will put another pic in its place so it does not look so bad.

I wonder if any of the cams caught any lightning? Do any of the cams have an archive type area to see past pics?

Don...what a great photo contribution. Makes Mrs. HC and me wish we were north instead of south this week. As soon as we get started building and have some free time at the lake these wonderful stormy and rainy days will great for quilting...so I am told and perfect for taking great photos of Nature's handiwork. Thanks Scott, too. Wow

Thanks Scott, another great rainbow shot. For IG, hey that photo for us to be cool in the hot weather? LOL. Hope all the Islands get their power back on quickly. I kept checking the various webcams especially the new Weirs cam but I never saw lightining unless I looked away from the computer when it would strike.
