Question Winnipesaukee Classifieds

I am interested in hearing about experiences using the Classifieds on this site for buying and selling. Is it the useful tool that it seems to be?
Thanks.

I get at least 3 calls on nearly everything I put on there. Although, my compressor has been there 2 days with no action. Come on Buyers!!!

Default Very good luck

We sold our boat through the ads very quickly.

We now just listed our Lake House on Winnisqaum but I am half hoping no one calls. With child #3 on the way it's the smart thing to do, but painful even so.

I think Don does a great Job with the site and there is a lot more traffic than people realize.

Default Winni Classifieds

A co-worker sold his boat in two days on the Winni Classifieds. I on the other hand have had no takers for my twin beds, so off to the dump they go!

I read them almost every day, just looking at stuff. I am always looking for a new boat and furniture. So keep posting your things for sale.

Default We found just what we wanted!

When our youngest was looking to buy a dirtbike, he headed straight for e-bay motors. He was certain it was the only way to go. I went straight to the classifieds on this site. In less than ten minutes, we found exactly the bike he was looking for, and in less than 48 hours it was in our garage. These classifieds are wonderful, and we'll always look there first!

It's great to hear all the positive comments. The Classifieds are effective and free!

This thread does give me the chance to make a few observations. Almost every day I see 2 problems on the Classifieds that are discouraging.

First, many ads are placed with invalid email addresses. Often there are typos in the address or it is just invalid. When the ad starts receiving email responses they are rejected and kicked back to me. When that happens I have no choice but to delete the ad. Each of the rejected responses is a lost opportunity so please double check your email address when posting an ad.

Second, one of the few rules I have on the Classifieds is NO ALL CAPS (including the title!). It is listed in the rules and is prominently displayed in large red letters on the post ad form. Unfortunately that rule is ignored almost every day as ads are posted in all caps. When I have have time I convert them to lower case but usually I have to just delete them. All I ask to use this free service is that a few basic rules be observed. Please do not post in ALL CAPS on the Classifieds or anywhere on the site!

So please take a moment to read the "Ad Posting Rules & Hints" before posting and try to include a picture.

Did I mention that like all features of this site, the Classifieds are free! Enjoy.
