I was surprised to hear that Little Island (aka Clow Island) on Paugus Bay is for sale. I believe the new house was built about five years ago. The original one burned to the ground in February of 1975 after having fallen into a state of disrepair. Deeds show that there was a house on Little Island as far back as 1895, when it was purchased by William Clow from a William Black. Does anyone know exactly when the first house was built? It has had numerous owners through the years, among them the late Laconia Fire Chief Merle Sargent.

It is presently listed on the Northern New England Real Estate website.
