There is a good-sized concrete 'platform' near the top of Cobble Mt, somewhat NNW of the summit and a little below it. I have always assumed that it was the upper anchor point of a tow line for a ski slope on Cobble during the earliest days of the Belknap Recreation Area, which has now morphed into the Gunstock Recreation Area. It is very similar, tho smaller, to the concrete abutment on the high ridge line of the north side of Mt Rowe which is all that seems to be left of the chair lift that served as the main lift for the Alpine Ridge ski area of 20-30 years ago.
