What I didn't mention, was which war. This tunnel hull, surface-piercing-prop boat was designed in 1913! (And sold for $71,000).

I urge caution when bidding at the site. I "won" a bid at BaT auction house, after citing one small condition (a delivery of three hours). After the auction, the seller then refused. So I drove to the seller, and found it had been misleadingly advertised. I refused to buy it, and lost my four-figure deposit (to BaT) in the process.

But I'm not looking back.

Interesting items keep showing up so I check every day's auction. I thought I'd share yesterday's comment regarding a very desirable car from the 1950s:

"[Her] father had not just one but two of these sitting dusty and on flat tires in her mothers garage. Should have married her just for the cars as she was obviously rich, quite beautiful and in love with me at the time. I’m gonna find a tall building with a beautiful view and jump off now. Just kidding, I don’t care about the view."
