I liked the ranger 375v style boat except for it is 17' 10", a 393v or champion version could fit the bill due to 19+ ft. Leaning towards ranger due to the excellent test ride my buddy gave me in his 95 482 this week.

I'm looking for a long 18ft or short 20ft. dual console, prefer 1988 to 1997 yrs due to budget of 12000 or less. must fish and ride 4 people

I was wondering why bass boats rated for up to 6 people only have seating for 3 while on the plane. can some dual consoles ride a person on the lockable rod lockers that have open space between the lockers? any ideas on this?

thanks for your time.
I'd lean towards the 400 series of ranger bass boats. I have had both 300 and 400 series of boats. A few years ago I purchased a 482 VS for my son which is the same as mine.

I started out with a 363 V that was the same as the ones used in the bass masters classic that year. The 390 series of boats are nice too and a lot better than the older 300 series of boats.

My buddy just (last year) got one of the newer ranger 520 inter coastal series of bass boats. (80,000.00 dollars plus). One thing about them is, if you take care of it you can get you monies back.

For my sons boat we bought a clunker and rebuilt it one thing at a time.

One thing about 17' 10" boats, they are a wet ride. I've seen a lot of them get swamped over the years. None of them sank but on a rough day they are vulnerable.
